Get involved - become a member of the BIS School Site Council!
The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of administrators, teachers, parents, and students that develops, reviews and evaluates school improvement programs with the goal of best serving the entire school community. Over the course of the school year, the SSC considers the goals of the school or district and then evaluates the school's progress toward those goals, creating a plan for improvement. This plan might involve new academic programs, staff development, parent outreach strategies or other student development programs. Along with addressing annual needs, School Site Council also is working on long-range goals including building community, celebrating the diversity of our student population, evaluating future technological needs, and enhancing communication with families. SSC meetings are open to the public and are generally the first Thursday of the month at 3:30pm. The minutes are published monthly on the BIS website. Questions may be directed to Melissa Germaine at mgdk8@comcast.net or Wendy Ehrlich at sehrlich@hotmail.com.
